400;\">pra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Tamb\u00e9m acontece com as palavras <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">da \u00e1gua<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que podem ser contra\u00eddas para <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d\u2019\u00e1gua<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acontece que, no ingl\u00eas, as contra\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o <\/span><b>muito<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mais comuns que na nossa l\u00edngua. Elas est\u00e3o por toda a parte, tanto no ingl\u00eas padr\u00e3o, quanto, mais ainda, no ingl\u00eas informal \u2014 seja aquele falado pelas pessoas no dia a dia ou aquele escrito internet a fora. Assim como acontece em <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d\u2019\u00e1gua<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u00e9 muito comum no ingl\u00eas que a contra\u00e7\u00e3o seja indicada por um ap\u00f3strofo, essa v\u00edrgula que fica pendurada l\u00e1 no alto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Algumas das contra\u00e7\u00f5es em ingl\u00eas mais comuns s\u00e3o aquelas usadas para formar nega\u00e7\u00f5es que surgem da mistura de um <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.openenglish.com.br\/blog\/verbos-em-ingles\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verbo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + not: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">don\u2019t <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(do not), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">didn\u2019t <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(did not), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">isn\u2019t <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(is not), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wouldn\u2019t <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(would not), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">haven\u2019t <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(have not), entre outras. Repare que tem um padr\u00e3o que se repete: as duas palavras se juntam e a vogal <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">em <\/span><i><span N\u00e3o us\u00e1-las pode fazer com que o seu ingl\u00eas soe menos flu\u00eddo e natural, ainda que seja fluente.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Quase sempre?<\/h3>\n<p>Sim. Existe uma situa\u00e7\u00e3o da l\u00edngua ingl\u00eas que pede o uso das contra\u00e7\u00f5es, s\u00e3o as <em>tag questions<\/em>. As\u00a0<em>tag questions<\/em> s\u00e3o perguntas utilizadas ap\u00f3s uma frase como forma de confirmar aquela informa\u00e7\u00e3o (ou, \u00e0s vezes, fazer uma ironia). Repare:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You play socer, don&#8217;t you? (Voc\u00ea joga futebol, n\u00e3o joga?)<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s almost two meters tall, isn&#8217;t he? (Ele tem quase dois metros de altura, n\u00e3o tem?)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A contra\u00e7\u00e3o vem sempre depois da v\u00edrgula e \u00e9 o oposto da primeira frase.
